CRANE OPERATOR & RIGGING TRAINING
- Truck-Mounted, Knuckle-Boom and Crawler Crane Operator Training:
This two-day informational seminar familiarizes the trainee with crane types and capacities to assure proper
equipment selection for the load weights and lift heights anticipated; proper equipment inspection, testing &
maintenance, equipment set-up, operating procedures/precautions, general operator
requirements/responsibilities and management responsibilities for safe crane operations in general.
This is an excellent course to prepare operators for the NYS Certificate of Competency testing when required.
Currently a NYS Certificate is needed for cranes having a boom length of 40' or more, and/or over 5 T capacity.
All tower crane operators must be certified by NYS.
We recommend coupling our crane training with at least one day of rigging training available from
Safety Systems to assure basic safety skills in setting up the lift.
Both classroom training and practical hands-on experience are provided. We have an extensive inventory of
rigging equipment for demonstration and practical training.
More intensive crane and rigging training is available. Call Safety Systems to discuss your specific needs;
especially with regard to preparing operators for the complex NYS Certificate of Competency Testing.
This training is for the novice rigger and the experienced rigger who needs to refresh and refine his skills.
Topics covered include regulatory review, hazard review and safety precautions, international signals,
all rigging hardware types and uses and selection, reeving, load limits inspection procedures, estimating
load weights, winching and more.
The two day is classroom and inside demonstration; the three day includes actual yard exercises "on the hook".
Certification of training is provided for your records.
Advanced five-day course available.
A one day course is available only with crane opr. training.
